Full Description

A fascinating journey from Sharm El Sheikh to the Grand Egyptian Museum, the world's largest archaeological museum dedicated to ancient Egyptian heritage. Enjoy a guided tour that brings Egypt's ancient civilization to life with its modern design and state-of-the-art displays. Our full-day trip combines history, culture, and even some adventure, making it a must-see-do experience for history enthusiasts and travelers alike.

The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the world's largest archaeological museum, is slated to officially open to the public on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

As part of the final preparations, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced the temporary closure of the museum to visitors from Wednesday, October 15, 2025 until the opening on November 4, to complete logistical and organizational preparations.

Early morning flight from Sharm El Sheikh to Cairo (exact time varies based on flight schedules) will take approximately 1 hour. Our drive will pick you up from your hotel as scheduled in your tour confirmation and take to the airport.

Upon landing, you will be greeted by a professional English speaking guide who will accompany you throughout the day. Kindly note that the guide always waits outside of the main arrival hall with the sign “sharm-club.com”.

We start our Excursion to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) with a short drive from the airport to the Pyramids area, as the museum is situated at the bottom of Giza Plateau.

Not fully inaugurated, the Grand Egyptian Museum is a world-class facility designed to showcase Egypt's incredible heritage. The museum’s architecture combines modern design with traditional motifs, offering stunning views of the Giza Plateau. Currently, only 12 halls are open to the public, offering a curated selection of artifacts from Egypt's illustrious history. Admission is currently limited to the Main Galleries, Grand Hall, Grand Staircase, commercial area, and exterior gardens.

Access to the Tutankhamun galleries and Khufu's Boats Museum is restricted until the official opening.

After the tour we will move to the Pyramids of Giza - ancient wonders, built over 4,500 years ago as monumental tombs for pharaohs - and visit The Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, along with the iconic Sphinx. Explore the plateau, admire the precise engineering, and learn about the significance of these structures in ancient Egyptian culture. We will also visit panoramic viewpoints for incredible photo opportunities.

When we are done with the tour a tasty lunch will be waiting for us at a local restaurant. After lunch some shopping in the area will be available before we head back to the airport.

An Unforgettable Day Trip from Sharm to the Heart of Ancient Egypt!
5 / 5
Fanta , 30 Sep 2025
This tour to Cairo from Sharm El Sheikh was the absolute highlight of our holiday. From start to finish, it was a seamless and incredible experience. The day was perfectly arranged. The pick-up from our hotel was on time, the transport was comfortable, and all the logistics were handled smoothly, allowing us to simply relax and enjoy the journey. The two main sites were breathtaking. Seeing the Pyramids of Giza in person is a true bucket-list moment, and it did not disappoint. The real standout, however, was the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM). Even though it's newly opened, being there and seeing the incredible collection, including the treasures of Tutankhamun, was awe-inspiring. But what truly made the day exceptional was our guide, Sherif. He wasn't just a guide; he was a storyteller. His knowledge about Ancient Egypt is vast and he shared it with so much passion and humor. He navigated the sites expertly, ensured we saw all the key artifacts and viewpoints, and answered our endless questions with patience. He made the history come alive! I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. A perfect 10/10 experience, largely thanks to the fantastic Sherif!
