What you will see during your tour from Alexandria cruise port?

Our pyramids tour includes visits and exploration to the following iconic places in the area:

- The Great Pyramid of Giza also known as The Pyramid of Cheops looms majestically over the Giza Plateau, a colossal stone monument that has stood for over 4,500 years, defying the passage of time. Crafted with precision and ingenuity, it is an architectural marvel, consisting of approximately 2.3 million limestone and granite blocks, each painstakingly cut and assembled to create this awe-inspiring edifice. Built during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom, it was constructed as a tomb for Pharaoh Khufu, also known as Cheops in Greek. This colossal pyramid was meant to ensure his journey to the afterlife.

- The pyramid of Khafre, often referred to as the Pyramid of Chephren, is a captivating ancient monument located on the Giza Plateau, adjacent to the Great Pyramid of Khufu. This pyramid, built for Pharaoh Khafre, is the second-largest pyramid on the plateau and is surrounded by a complex of significant structures. The Pyramid of Khafre was constructed during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom, around 2570 BC. One of the pyramid's most striking features is its upper portion, which still retains some casing stones made of Tura limestone. These casing stones once covered the entire pyramid and, when intact, gave it a smooth, gleaming appearance.

The pyramid complex surrounding Khafre's tomb includes several notable features. The most famous is the Great Sphinx of Giza, a colossal limestone statue with the body of a lion and the head of a pharaoh, believed by many to represent Pharaoh Khafre himself.

Adjacent to the pyramid is the Valley Temple, an impressive structure built from massive blocks of granite. It is believed to have served as a mortuary temple and an entrance point for the pharaoh's burial procession.

A causeway connects the Valley Temple to the Mortuary Temple, which is situated near the base of the pyramid. This causeway was used for processions and rituals related to the pharaoh's burial.

- The Pyramid of Menkaure is the smallest of the three main pyramids at Giza and was built as the tomb for Pharaoh Menkaure, a ruler of the Fourth Dynasty during the Old Kingdom period (around 2532–2503 BC). What sets the Pyramid of Menkaure apart is its distinctive three-tiered design. Originally standing at about 65 meters (213 feet) in height, it consists of three main layers of different types of stone, with the uppermost layer still retaining some of its original casing stones.

- Queens' Pyramids are three smaller pyramids adjacent to Menkaure's pyramid. These smaller structures are thought to have served as the final resting places for the pharaoh's queens.
