Qaitbay Citadel Tour

The fort of the fifteenth century Qaitbay is located at the entrance to the eastern harbor of Alexandria in the eastern part of the island of the Pharaohs, on the Mediterranean coast. This military structure was built on the site of an ancient lighthouse in 1477 AD.

The recently restored fort is an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with the military architecture of Egypt, it has access to almost all parts. You can walk along its catacombs, climb its walls and look at the city and the Mediterranean Sea, or go up to the second floor of the fortress and look down or see the whole fortress at once.
