Our ecursion to Memphis city will start with early pick up from your hotel in Cairo. Our guide meet you at the reception of your hotel and then transfer to Ancient Memphis known now as village of Mit Rahina. Here we will have a look at the Open Air Museum exhibits and visit the most famous monument of the area — Colossal Statue of Ramses the II. Then back to our comfortable van and move to Dashur.
Dahshour lies 2 km from the South Saqqara pyramid area and contains 5 pyramids. The 1st is that of Sesostris III (Senusert – 1840 BC), then the stone pyramid of Amenemhet II (1900 bc) follows that of Amenemhet III . After that 2 pyramids of Snefru known as Red Pyramid and Bent Pyramid. Not all pyramids in Dashur are well preserved. On the east side of Dashur you cannot help but notice the pyramid of Amenemhet III known as the Black Pyramid because what is left of its mud brick interior is very dark.
We will visit with you the Bent or South Pyramid. It was the 1st pyramid in Egypt to begun as a true one. If the pyramid had been completed according to plans, it would have been the greatest in Egypt. The Red or North Pyramid is known due to the colour of limestone used in its construction. It is the 2nd largest pyramid in Egypt .The original height of the pyramid is 105 m. We will also use our chance and enter inside the Red Pyramid to explore it.
At the end of the tour transfer back to Cairo to your hotel.
