Cairo foodies experience

Let’s start our tour in the morning to catch the most delicious and freshly baked sweets, oriental desserts, buns and pies cooked in Cairo bakeries.

Our guide will pick up you from your Cairo hotel and let’s move to downtown to a very famous local shop of Oriental sweets. Here we will buy some famous Egyptian desserts such as “Om Alli”, “baspusa bel eshta” or “kunafa with cream” and then have a sit at one oriental café to eat our desserts and experience local Egyptian drinks. We can try Turkish coffee or hot karkade drink, sahlab (milk with starch and nuts) or any other oriental drink you may like to try. Let’s enjoy our oriental morning in the middle of Cairo.
Now time to visit some sightseeing, so we’ll move to the National Egyptian Museum and take a two hours tour with our guide. See, what ancient Egyptians ate in the past.

Afternoon is a perfect time to experience Egyptian street food. Let’s move back to downtown and find one nice restaurant and try some oriental sandwiches – sandwich of beans or falafel is always a good choice, but havashi (loaf of oriental bread with meat) or sandwich with liver is also an option. Let’s take our sandwiches and move to Giza, to visit the famous pyramids.

Let’s have up to 3 hours walking tour of the pyramid, we’ll visit the pyramids and sphinx, have a look inside workers tomb and wander around Sphinx’s valley temple. After our pyramids tour we will get a great chance to taste seasonal fruits juice. You can choose 1 drink from a multiple options such shops have to offer. Here you always find fresh juice of s mango, strawberry, guava, orange, carrots and others. Want something more authentic, try freshly squeezed sugar cane juice – the most popular juice among Egyptians.

Now time to get a real Egyptian dinner. Next stop at an oriental restaurant with traditional Egyptian food. Here you have many choices to experience traditional Egyptian cuisine. Grilled meat and kabab is not actually the food we want to show you. Try something really Egyptian like mahshy (stuffed with rice and greens peppers, egg-plants, zucchini or vine-leaves), tagin – vegetables with meat and tomato souse, fatta- rice with meat, pieces of bread and tomato souse, there are many choices, we will help you to chose the best Egyptian food to get the full Egyptian food experience. After dinner transfer back to your hotel.

Alexandria foodies experience

After breakfast in your hotel our guide will pick up you and you will take around 2 hours drive to Alexandria. Upon arrival in Alexandria let’s visit Greco-Roman sights of the city including Roman Theatre, Pompey Pillar and of course famous Catacombs of Kom al-Soqafa. Let’s have some break and go to the city to taste traditional Egyptian pie (fetir), you can order either sweet one with cream, honey or oriental sweets inside or more western way, like pizza with tuna or different kinds of cheese. After our short lunch break time to visit Alexandria National Museum and get to know its unique collection of Egyptian artifacts. Collection of this museum has never been exhibited at any Egyptian Museum before.
When we finish our museum guided tour time to taste real Alexandria. We will go with you to downtown of Alexandria to the sea, to city’s famous fish market. Here we will buy some fish, you can choose the one you like and it will be cooked for your right in front of your eyes. Another option for less adventurous to have our dinner in a local fish restaurant. At the end of the day transfer back to Cairo to your hotel.
