Let's go to the museum of Nubia, and get acquainted with this amazing, but unfortunately, irretrievably lost culture. This museum is fully devoted to the history, culture and traditions of this civilization: from the prehistoric period, to ancient times, through the Christian and Islamic eras, to its final decline after the construction of the Aswan Dam.

This afternoon excursion is designed for 2-2.5 hours walking tour. Our guide will pick you up at your hotel and transfer you to the Museum, which is located on the mountain, directly opposite the Fatimid cemetery with its ancient chapels. It contains a unique collection of Nubian art, monuments and artifacts extracted from tombs, temples and settlements. The museum was completed and opened to the first visitors on November 23, 1997. The museum is dedicated to the history of Nubia, a region that stretches from Aswan to the north through Sudan to the south. The history and culture of Nubians from the very beginning of their culture and up to its disappearance with the waters of Lake Nasser is presented in the halls of the museum. After a tour around the inner rooms of the museum, let’s walk through the garden that represents the Nile Valley. There is a prehistoric cave with petroglyphs of animals, a house built in the traditional Nubian style, an open-air theater for five hundred seats and a Fatimid cemetery. The canal, surrounded by local flora and fauna, flows through the entire garden and symbolizes the Nile River. Walking through the open-air museum you will also see many ancient Egyptian statues, obelisks and columns found in this area. The total area of the museum and its environs is 50,000 square meters.
