the new Library is located on the same site where the old Library was built 2300 years ago within the old royal quarter of Alexandria under the Ptolemies.

Visit of Catacombs
Catacombs of Kom-Shukafa – these tombs were discovered by chance in Karmoz aria in 1900 after 12 years of searching. The tomb dated back to the 1 st or 2 nd century and consists of 4 underground floors. The 1 st and the 3 rd floors are completely under the water. The most significant feature of this tomb is the existence of paintings on its walls that represent the overlap of three different kinds of art – Egyptian, Greek and Roman.
Roman theatre and Pompey Pillar visit
Visit the only Roman amphitheater in Egypt, dating back to the second century AD which was discovered by chance in 1960 by Egyptian-polish expedition in Kom el-Dekka.
Then move to Pompey pillar which was constructed in honor of Diocletian in 292 AD. Crusaders gave the name to this pillar “Pompey's” because they wrongly thought that the head of Pompey was buried on the top of pillar. Originally this column was taken from a magnificent temple of Serapis. It's made of rose granite, has a Corinthian style capital and it was with its base 26,85 meters high.

Visit of Catacombs, Roman theatre and Pompey Pillar
Move to another area of the city to discover Catacombs of Kom al Shukafy, remains of Roman theatre and a huge Pompey pillar.
Overnight in a hotel
Then we'll go to the Delta Kauod hotel - it is 4 stars hotel situated near the sea and all rooms are with sea view.
Experience at night
At night after rest you can go to Al Mursi Abu Al Abbas mosque, as there is a possibility to watch the Islamic praise called zeker.
2nd day
Qaitbay citadel visit
The next day starts with visit of
fifteenth-century Qaitbay citadel which were build on remains of Pharos Lighthouse destroyed by earthquake in 13th centure. It is a beautiful example of Mamluk military architecture at its finest.
Royal jewelry museum on National museum of Alexandria visit
After lunch in a local restaurant we will move to Royal jewelry museum, pass by Ras el-Soda temple and visit Montazah gardens and see its palace.
Back to your hotel
At the end of the day when the program will be finished we will drive you to your hotel.
